The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
lesnar fails with the takedown.
Sousa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. lesnar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sousa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but lesnar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sousa tries to move to mount but lesnar blocks the move with his legs.
lesnar is looking to reverse the position.
lesnar tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sousa presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Sousa has control of lesnar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and lesnar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sousa wants to free his trapped foot but lesnar is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sousa seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. lesnar is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
