Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Andador! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Silva connects with a single shot there. Silva has a takedown stuffed. Andador misses with a takedown and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Andador has eaten all the pies! Silva pushes Andador up against the cage in a clinch. Andador breaks from the clinch.
Jab from Silva. Silva misses with a head kick.
Andador misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Silva lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Silva scores with a one two! Andador had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Andador misses with a few strikes there.

Silva lands with a nice body punch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Andador wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Andador doesn't seem bothered though. Silva fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Andador looks gassed! A combination from Andador does no damage. Andador tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Andador throws a sloppy body shot
and Silva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Silva lands a head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice uppercut lands for Silva. That snapped Andador's head back.
Andador takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Silva throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Andador's head. Silva scores with the left hand. Andador knows he should have avoided that one. The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Andador doesn't seem phased though. Nice jab there from Silva. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silva jabs Andador right on the nose. Andador blinks but takes it well. Silva is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Silva's corner calls for a 1-2. Silva obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Andador looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Silva lands a lovely overhand right. Silva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Good standup being displayed there by Silva as he connects with a hook. Silva cracks a nice hook into Andador's ribs. Silva lands a head kick!
Silva scores with a hook to the body. Andador takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Jon Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andador on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Silva moves into range and clinches up with Andador. Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silva is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Silva scores with a jab. Andador acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Silva moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva closes the distance and lands a one-two. Silva is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Andador on the wrong end of a nice jab. Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Andador is trying to control but can't.
Silva slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andador is in trouble now - Silva has advanced to mount! Silva controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Silva dominated that round. That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Andador should have avoided that one. Andador tries to clinch up and Silva counters with a nice uppercut. Andador has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Andador tries to clinch but Silva moves away enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab. Jon Silva is winning the standup battle so far. Andador scores a takedown into full mount! Silva is working to get back to half guard.
Andador is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Silva controlling the position for now. Andador trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva is concentrating on defense, preventing Andador from advancing position. Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jon Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A jab from Silva finds it's way through Andador's defenses. Joao Andador is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Silva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Silva stands up over Andador, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silva stays in close to Andador's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva gets to his feet. Andador looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Andador is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Silva scores with a nice strike. Andador walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Andador can do to turn this around? Andador moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Silva is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Andador takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Silva lands the left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva lands a lovely overhand right. Silva with a jab. Nice jab there from Silva. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Andador! Silva controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Silva dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Silva works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Silva scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Andador shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andador takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Andador is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Silva controlling the pace for now. Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Andador for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jon Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Silva tests Andador's chin there with a solid looking shot. Andador takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Silva scores with a jab to the head.
Andador takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Silva throws a good cross that connects.
Andador has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Silva.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva connects with a single shot there. Silva rushes Andador and presses him up against the cage. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva closes the distance and pushes Andador back into the cage. Silva breaks from the clinch.
Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Jon Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Andador working hard to break the clinch. Andador trying to stall but Silva improves his position.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Andador is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
Silva with a hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva moves into range and clinches up with Andador. Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silva moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Silva lands a nice looking kick to the body. Andador takes a step back to recover. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Andador drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Joao Andador has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
