Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Romeo Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Richards sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sanchez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Richards was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanchez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Richards is keeping the position for now.

Richards looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Richards really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanchez is looking to advance position but Richards has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Sanchez manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Sanchez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Sanchez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Richards trying to mount his opponent but Sanchez defends it.
Sanchez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Richards seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Richards is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanchez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Richards thows a huge punch but Sanchez dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Richards fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sanchez sprawls well initially but Richards persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Richards in particular looking to stall.
Sanchez tries to roll over but Richards keeps him under control.

Richards passes into side control, despite Sanchez's attempt to control the position.
Richards creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Sanchez is looking to regain half guard here but Richards keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Richards tries to advance to mount but can't.
Sanchez wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Sanchez sneaks back into half guard.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanchez sees it coming and defends easily.

Richards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sanchez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Richards counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sanchez!
Sanchez looks gassed!

Richards is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Richards manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sanchez's best efforts.

Richards has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanchez is working away from the top position though.
Richards wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

Sanchez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Richards moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Richards dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Richards drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sanchez is looking to regain half guard here but Richards keeps moving and retains side control.

Sanchez takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Sanchez struggling a bit here.
Richards gets to mount! Sanchez was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The referee warns Sanchez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sanchez tries to improve his position but instead Richards has taken his back!

Richards patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Sanchez breaks Richards's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.
Richards trying to control the position.
Richards tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Richards wants to control but Sanchez passes easily into half guard.
Richards moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Sanchez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Richards dives on top into guard.
Sanchez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Richards has passed into side control.

Sanchez wants to control but Richards postures up.
Sanchez tries to control but Richards manages to take his back.

Richards is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sanchez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Richards has managed to slip his arm under Sanchez's chin. This could be all over... yep, Sanchez is tapping out! Submission win for Richards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kevin Richards!
