Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Welling as he jumps to the side.
Dick takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Welling fails with the takedown

and Dick counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dick passes Welling's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Dick is trying to work for a kimura but Welling is defending well.
Dick trying to mount his opponent but Welling defends it.
Welling really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dick is working for a submission of some sort.
Welling is positioning himself well to prevent Dick advancing to mount.

Dick is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Welling is just riding it out for now. Dick eventually gives up the hold.
Welling has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dick is working away from the top position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dick shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Welling defends it nicely.
Welling clinches but Dick breaks the clinch

and Dick counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dick could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Welling is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Welling scoring well with a low kick there.

Welling tries to keep at a distance but Dick has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Welling closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dick to the mat! Dick manages to get full guard.

Welling is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Dick has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Welling is looking to defend but Dick has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Welling! Dick pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Welling taps out and this one is all over!
