Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between manny makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kane Riddick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). makunouchi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is sandstorm. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
makunouchi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riddick circles away quickly and effectively.
Riddick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as makunouchi sprawls well. makunouchi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riddick gets slowly back to his feet.
makunouchi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riddick.
makunouchi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
makunouchi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Riddick clinches with his opponent.
Riddick has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but makunouchi regains guard immediately.
makunouchi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Riddick is aware though and is defending well.

makunouchi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Riddick seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but makunouchi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Riddick has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from makunouchi finds it's way round the side to connect with Riddick's head.

makunouchi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Riddick. Riddick circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Riddick shoots for a takedown but makunouchi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

makunouchi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
makunouchi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Riddick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Riddick darts in and clinches makunouchi up against the cage.
Riddick keeps control of makunouchi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Riddick drops down looking for an ankle pick but makunouchi pulls his leg out and moves away.
makunouchi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Riddick counters with a nice double leg into side control. makunouchi won't be happy with that.
makunouchi manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Riddick looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks makunouchi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
makunouchi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
makunouchi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Riddick frees his head nicely. Oh but makunouchi has switched to an armbar! Riddick is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
