Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 2, fighting out of New York, James Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, tom booker! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. booker did well to prevent Scott getting side control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scott connects with a nice short shot to booker's temple. Scott trying to mount his opponent but booker defends it. Scott thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed booker's head. Scott tries to pass the half guard into mount. booker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Scott is looking to take a break and control but booker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Scott is pressing down on booker's thigh, looking to free his foot. booker is holding on for now. booker is refusing to be controlled, as Scott sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott seems to be looking for submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. booker throws a head kick that misses. Scott looks to land a right hand but booker moved out of range. A big left from Scott misses. Scott thows a body shot but no joy. Scott dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Scott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in booker's half guard. Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Scott throwing shots but booker is blocking nicely. Scott wants to control but booker is keeping him busy. booker is defending against the submission attempts here by Scott.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. booker has his takedown stuffed and Scott counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Scott jumps into guard, dragging booker to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Scott wants to sweep here but booker controlling him for the moment. Scott lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for booker! Scott takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Scott is looking for the choke from the back position but booker is controlling his hands well. booker trying to control the position but Scott manages to sink in the hooks. booker is trying to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

booker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Scott was covering up waiting for the punch and booker finishes the takedown easily into guard. booker content to stall in guard here. Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but booker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Scott keeping moving, preventing booker from controlling successfully.

Scott wants to sweep here but booker controlling him for the moment. Scott is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! booker has his hands clasped together but Scott extends an breaks booker's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Scott.
