Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Neto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Arshavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arshavin has chosen The Arsenal Mastermind as his entrance music. Tiago Neto has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tiago Neto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Arshavin! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arshavin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Arshavin throws a series of punches but Neto avoids them all with ease.
Neto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Arshavin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Neto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Neto grinds an elbow into Arshavin's temple. Arshavin is not content to let Neto control the position.
Neto tries for a kimura but Arshavin is defending well.
Neto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arshavin, who protects the arm well.

Arshavin is not content to let Neto control the position. Arshavin managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Neto.
Neto tries to score with some ground and pound. Arshavin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Arshavin feints and as Neto raises his hands in defense, Arshavin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Neto has his foot on Arshavin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arshavin works his way back into a safe position though. Neto looking for a sweep. Not yet Neto, not yet.
Arshavin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Arshavin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Neto napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Neto is breathing heavily.

Neto throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Arshavin in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Arshavin trying to control the position but Neto is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arshavin decides to stand back up. Arshavin lands with a cross. Neto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Neto with a lazy takedown attempt and Arshavin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Arshavin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Arshavin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Arshavin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Neto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Neto tries to hold on but Arshavin pushes him away. Neto is in all sorts of trouble here.
Neto is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Neto throwing hammer fists to the chest of Arshavin. What's that going to do exactly? Arshavin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Arshavin working Neto over with strikes here. Neto wants to hold on but Arshavin pushes him away. Arshavin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Neto is looking to escape. Neto tries to hold on but Arshavin postures up.

Arshavin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Arshavin blocks Neto's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Arshavin dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Neto misses with a takedown
and Arshavin counters by clinching up. Arshavin just leaning against Neto, taking a breather. Arshavin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Arshavin breaks from the clinch.

and Arshavin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Arshavin wants to get up but he can't break Neto's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Arshavin stands up and waves to Neto to follow him.
Arshavin drives through and clinches with Neto against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tiago Neto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Arshavin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Arshavin moves into the clinch successfully.
Neto drops down looking for an ankle pick but Arshavin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Neto misses with a takedown attempt enabling Arshavin to counter with a crisp jab. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Neto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Arshavin counters with a nice body kick.
Neto shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

A nice leg kick lands there from Arshavin. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Neto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Arshavin is looking to clinch. Arshavin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Arshavin darts in and clinches Neto up against the cage. Neto wants to break the clinch but can't.
Arshavin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Arshavin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Neto swats him away and circles back towards the center. Arshavin tries to close the distance and clinch but Neto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Arshavin is defended easily by Neto. Arshavin's corner calls for a 1-2. Arshavin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Arshavin tries to clinch but Neto moves out of range. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Arshavin looks to score with a jab to the body but Neto is just out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrei Arshavin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Neto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Arshavin counters with a nice uppercut. Arshavin tries to close the distance and clinch but Neto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Arshavin fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arshavin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Neto paws at him with a jab and circles away. Arshavin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The fighters circling - Arshavin throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Arshavin throws a series of punches but Neto moves out of range. Neto misses with a takedown and Arshavin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Arshavin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Neto keeps working. Neto throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Neto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Arshavin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Arshavin trying to control the position from guard on top but Neto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Arshavin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Neto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arshavin has managed to get both his arms back between Neto's legs - danger averted. Neto looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Arshavin puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Arshavin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Neto to get to his feet. Andrei Arshavin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick from Arshavin lands but Neto takes it in his stride. Arshavin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Arshavin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Arshavin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Neto to the mat! Neto manages to get full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Andrei Arshavin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Arshavin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
