Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between JHIMMY JAKA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunes has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Gabriel Nunes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with JHIMMY JAKA's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, JHIMMY JAKA! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Nunes! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! JAKA shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nunes's guard. JAKA is stalling in the full guard. Nunes looks gassed! Nunes keeping moving, preventing JAKA from controlling successfully. Nunes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nunes keeping full guard, as JAKA tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. JAKA wants to control from the top but Nunes keeps moving. JAKA throwing strikes from guard but Nunes blocks nicely. JAKA trying to control the position from guard on top but Nunes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. JAKA looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Nunes! JAKA controlling the pace for now. JAKA scoring with strikes but Nunes is staying in there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. JAKA get's back to his feet. Gabriel Nunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from JAKA. JAKA drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. JAKA stands up. JAKA instigates a clinch. JAKA jumps guard but Nunes stands there with JAKA around his waist. JAKA gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nunes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. JAKA has picked Nunes up - he's going for a ride! JAKA dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. JAKA escapes and gets back to his feet. JAKA fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A chopping leg kick lands by JAKA. Nunes has his takedown stuffed and JAKA counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nunes's guard now. Nunes throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nunes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. JAKA is aware though and is defending well. JAKA is looking to work some ground and pound but Nunes has wrist control. Nunes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and JAKA defends well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. JAKA has gone for a leg lock! Nunes slips out almost immediately though and dives into JAKA's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JHIMMY JAKA dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nunes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but JAKA moves out of range and avoids them all easily. JAKA changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nunes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. JAKA working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. JAKA wants to control but Nunes is keeping him busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nunes is looking for a sweep. JAKA has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. JAKA fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nunes sprawls well initially but JAKA persists and gets the takedown into half guard. JHIMMY JAKA overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nunes moves into full guard.

Nunes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but JAKA can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. JAKA wants to get up but he can't break Nunes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nunes throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! JAKA escapes and throws Nunes's legs to the side, diving into side control! Nunes is not content to let JAKA control the position. Nunes sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nunes wants to control but JAKA is keeping busy and won't allow it. JAKA is keen to just control but Nunes is a slippery customer. JAKA is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nunes gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. JAKA looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JHIMMY JAKA dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Nunes tries to grapple but his opponent circles and JAKA counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. JAKA lands with a punch from half guard. Nunes is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but JAKA pulls his head out easily. Nunes wants to control but JAKA is keeping busy and won't allow it. JAKA decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. JAKA fails with an attempt to clinch.
JAKA bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nunes is trying to control JAKA's posture but JAKA avoids it. JAKA is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nunes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. JAKA decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nunes gets caught flat footed, as JAKA shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. JAKA looking to pass the guard. JAKA trying to control but Nunes is working from the bottom. JAKA throws a strike but Nunes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nunes looking to sit in guard and control but JAKA gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. JAKA stands and steps away. Nunes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. JAKA throws a leg kick but Nunes checks it. JAKA fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nunes moves into the clinch. Nunes fails to pull guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nunes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
JAKA tries to pull guard but Nunes holds him up against the cage and eventually JAKA drops back down to his feet.

A short right from Nunes. Nunes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nunes avoids the elbow strike from JAKA, against the cage.
JAKA jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nunes walks away with a smile on his face. JAKA gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JHIMMY JAKA. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nunes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nunes is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Nunes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but JAKA does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! JHIMMY JAKA showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for JAKA, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
