Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Infected mushroom - Sa'eed kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ramon Alves! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alves fails with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alves sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Alves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Jones is going to stand back up.
Jones escapes and gets back to his feet. Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Alves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alves is proving hard to escape from. Jones connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture. Alves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A head kick misses from Jones. Alves misses with a takedown attempt and Jones moves into the clinch. Justin Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Alves. Jones wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Alves manages to pull guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones lands a couple of digs. Jones stands and steps away. Alves gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jones is breathing heavily. Alves tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Alves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Alves trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones stands up from Alves's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Alves shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones throws a big right hand that misses. Alves wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Alves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Alves misses with a takedown attempt and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alves's knee momentarily. Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice uppercut. Alves with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a big head kick but Alves shrugs it off. Justin Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Alves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jones tries a low kick but Alves avoids it. Alves is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones throws a front kick aimed at Alves's knee but Alves avoids it well. Alves moves away from the strike by Jones. A head kick misses from Jones. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily. Alves tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Alves misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alves blocks a head kick by Jones.
Alves with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Alves keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jones wants to break free but Alves has control.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Alves prevents it.
Jones manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Alves is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alves cracks Jones with a solid left hand. Jones pushes Alves off and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. Alves controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones stands up from Alves's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Alves cracks the inside of Jones's front leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Justin Jones dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Alves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily. Alves shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Alves's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alves napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alves some visible discomfort.
Alves takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jones decides to stand back up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alves tries to clinch up. Ramon Alves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alves gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alves's guard. Justin Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramon Alves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang! Alves gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a nice uppercut. Alves darts in trying to clinch and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Alves's guard. Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Alves trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alves looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alves looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alves!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Jones pushes Alves away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alves gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Jones is looking for a sweep. Jones is not content to let Alves control the position. Jones tries to escape but Alves is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Alves wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Justin Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
