Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo de Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Power Granger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power Granger acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo de Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Power Granger! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Granger throws a right and a left that both miss. Granger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Granger throws a series of punches but de Castro avoids them all with ease. The fight stays on the outside here - de Castro looks like he's thinking about clinching though. de Castro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Granger fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Granger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but de Castro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Granger closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Granger lands in his opponent's guard. de Castro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Granger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as de Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom. de Castro has his feet on Granger's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. de Castro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Granger wants to clinch but de Castro slips to the side and de Castro counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granger keeping moving, preventing de Castro from controlling successfully. Granger looking for a sweep. Not yet Granger, not yet. de Castro trying to control the position from guard on top but Granger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Granger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with de Castro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Granger trying to control the position.
de Castro advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Granger tries to bench press de Castro off him but de Castro keeps the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. de Castro tries to advance to mount but Granger denies him. de Castro creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Granger sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. de Castro has his takedown stuffed and Granger counters with a nice double leg into side control. de Castro won't be happy with that. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Granger fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. de Castro avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Granger. Granger working the ground and pound. de Castro regains half guard. de Castro is pressing down on Granger's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Granger won't allow de Castro to sweep him here. Granger tries to free his leg and advance position but de Castro is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. de Castro manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
de Castro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Granger is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. de Castro trying to control but he's not successful this time. de Castro with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hugo de Castro will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
de Castro has a takedown stuffed. de Castro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Granger throws a series of punches but de Castro moves out of range. de Castro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Granger circles away. de Castro closes the distance and clinches. Granger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Granger throws a right and a left that de Castro avoids nicely. de Castro tries to close the distance and clinch but Granger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Granger throws a right hand that de Castro ducks under and follows up with a left that de Castro also avoids with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. de Castro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Granger counters into the clinch. Nicely done. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo de Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Granger manages to pull guard.

de Castro passes Granger's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Granger trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. de Castro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Granger keeps working. de Castro stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Granger to get to his feet. de Castro with a poor takedown and Granger counters with a series of strikes. de Castro will be more careful next time no doubt. Hugo de Castro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. de Castro shoots and misses and Granger counters with a two punch combo. Granger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Granger is breathing heavily. de Castro blocking the ground and pound attempt from Granger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. de Castro tries to roll over but Granger keeps him under control. Granger wants to take a breather but de Castro is having none of it. de Castro manages to get to full guard.
Granger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. de Castro looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Granger throws a sloppy strike and de Castro has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Granger is forced to tap! Great BJJ from de Castro!
