Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and georges Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gsp´s Entrance. James Lee could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to georges Rush's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, georges Rush!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rush.
Lee is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rush's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Rush not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Lee wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment.

Rush throws and elbow that misses. Lee uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rush's guard. Nice move by Lee!

Rush shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rush was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lee is squirming around, avoiding Rush's attempts to control the action.
Lee bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Rush has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rush walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rush shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
James Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee misses with a straight right.
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lee throws a hook but Rush blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James Lee will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rush fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lee avoids it really well and circles away.

Lee takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rush drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lee manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rush has Lee in his guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rush can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lee wants to stand but Rush is controlling the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Lee will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Rush got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rush has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.

James Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lee has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lee lands a nice hook to Rush's body. Rush takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lee is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rush throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Lee.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
