Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phil McKrakin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayden Fuego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil McKrakin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jayden Fuego!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fuego feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McKrakin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Fuego passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuego missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
McKrakin is looking to control Fuego's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McKrakin avoid being mounted?
Fuego tries to pass to full mount but McKrakin defends it.

Fuego is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McKrakin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fuego on the ground.
Fuego seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McKrakin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McKrakin wants to control but Fuego is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McKrakin wants to clinch.
McKrakin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Horrible takedown by Fuego or perhaps it was just good defense by McKrakin which made him look bad.

Fuego shoots in and drives through. McKrakin sprawls well.

McKrakin rushes Fuego and presses him up against the cage.
McKrakin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
McKrakin tries a knee to the head but Fuego blocks it.
McKrakin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Fuego has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
With the fighters up against the cage, McKrakin throws an elbow but misses.
McKrakin creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Fuego blocking some punches.
McKrakin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

McKrakin breaks the clinch.
Fuego fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fuego looks for a takedown but McKrakin sprawls well.
McKrakin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fuego closes the distance and clinches up with McKrakin, looking for a takedown. Fuego pushes McKrakin against the cage but McKrakin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

McKrakin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fuego tries to pull guard but McKrakin holds him up against the cage and eventually Fuego drops back down to his feet.
McKrakin connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fuego's face.
McKrakin throws an elbow but it misses.
Fuego fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McKrakin lands an elbow inside.
McKrakin misses with an elbow over the top.

McKrakin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

McKrakin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fuego working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKrakin looking for a sweep. Not yet McKrakin, not yet.
McKrakin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fuego is pushing down on McKrakin's leg trying to pass to half guard. McKrakin is fighting to maintain full guard but Fuego has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fuego wants to take McKrakin's back here but McKrakin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

McKrakin tries to hold on but Fuego postures up.

Fuego is working for a guillotine from mount but McKrakin frees his head quite easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fuego closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McKrakin to the mat! McKrakin manages to get full guard.
McKrakin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fuego is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Fuego passes McKrakin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Fuego seems to be working for a kimura but McKrakin defends the submission attempt.
McKrakin is looking to improve his position.

Fuego seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. McKrakin is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
