Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Crusty Pelican (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Jam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jam has chosen Transylvania as his entrance music. Bob Jam will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crusty Pelican!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Jam!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jam blocks a leg kick.
Pelican tries to clinch up but Jam circles away and keeps his distance.
Pelican is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Crusty Pelican seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jam fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pelican looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pelican moves in looking to clinch but Jam pushes him off.

Pelican closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jam did well to prevent Pelican getting side control.

Pelican seems to be looking for submissions.

Pelican is looking for a kimura here.
Jam is looking to escape.
Jam trying to hold on to Pelican's head to control him but Pelican postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jam actively working from the bottom here.
Pelican wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jam keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jam looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jam lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pelican circles away quickly and effectively.
Jam sizes up Pelican with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Jam swats away the attempt to clinch by Pelican.
Jam lands a slapping body shot.

Pelican shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jam manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Pelican is breathing heavily.
Jam is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pelican working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pelican wants to pass the guard but Jam is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pelican preventing the sweep.

Pelican got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jam has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pelican has managed to get both his arms back between Jam's legs - danger averted.
Jam looking to control.
Pelican might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jam wants to sweep here but Pelican controlling him for the moment.

Jam throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pelican escapes and throws Jam's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Pelican looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Pelican has an Americana. Jam didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pelican is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pelican hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Crusty Pelican!
