Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Heartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heartman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Heartman Theme song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Flores! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Heartman! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heartman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Heartman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flores is just riding it out for now. Heartman eventually gives up the hold. Flores tries to roll over but Heartman keeps him under control. Heartman controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flores is staying active underneath Heartman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Heartman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Flores knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Heartman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flores keeps working. Heartman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Heartman passes to side control. Flores is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heartman works his foot free and advances to mount. Heartman working the ground and pound effectively.
Flores is desperately trying to improve his position but Heartman has a good base and remains in mount. Flores sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Flores is breathing heavily. Heartman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Flores does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Heartman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Flores sees it coming and defends easily. Flores actively working from the bottom here. Heartman trying to control the action but Flores is working from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Heartman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heartman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Flores defends it well. Heartman wants to pass the guard but Flores is defending well. Heartman is keen to just control but Flores is a slippery customer.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Flores has his takedown stuffed and Heartman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Heartman pulls guard successfully.

Heartman is controlling Flores's posture. Flores slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Flores trying to stand up but can't free himself from Heartman's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flores is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Heartman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Heartman has escaped and now he's on top! Heartman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Flores avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Heartman passes Flores's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Heartman is looking for a kimura but Flores is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Heartman to get the leverage. Flores actively working from the bottom here. Heartman seems to be working for a kimura but Flores defends the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heartman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Flores does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Flores tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Flores looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Flores is staying active underneath Heartman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Heartman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Flores was covering up waiting for the punch and Heartman finishes the takedown easily into guard. Heartman works a leg free and moves into half guard. Flores actively working from the bottom here. Heartman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Flores defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Heartman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Heartman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Flores is trying to defend but Heartman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Flores is defending against the submission attempts here by Heartman.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Heartman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heartman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Flores is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heartman pulls his head out easily.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Flores gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Heartman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Heartman looking to pass the guard. Flores is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Heartman defends well. Heartman passes Flores's left leg - he's now in half guard. Heartman is pressing down on Flores's thigh, looking to free his foot. Flores is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heartman lands with a punch from half guard. Heartman moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Flores. Heartman controlling from side mount. Heartman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flores, who protects the arm well. Flores wants to control but Heartman postures up. That's three minutes gone in the round. Heartman content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Heartman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Heartman throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Flores is not content to let Heartman control the position. Heartman is trying to get an arm triangle but Flores is defending well. Heartman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flores is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Heartman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Flores manages to work his way to half guard, despite Heartman's best efforts. Flores looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Heartman stalling. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flores tries to get to full guard but Heartman has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Heartman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Heartman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Flores is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Flores is desperately trying to improve his position but Heartman has a good base and remains in mount. Heartman quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Heartman but it's paid off an Flores is forced to tap! Nice work by Heartman.
