Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kru Ka Mali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mali comes to the cage accompanied by ALL! by Descendents. St Pierre is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Territoire Hostile. Kru Ka Mali looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mali closes the distance and clinches.

St Pierre turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
St Pierre in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
St Pierre has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
St Pierre lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mali down.
Mali parries the strikes from St Pierre easily there. St Pierre is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mali to escape.
St Pierre in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Mali is breathing heavily.
Mali dodges the ground and pound from St Pierre.

St Pierre decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mali to his feet.

St Pierre drives through and clinches with Mali against the cage.

St Pierre wants the takedown. Mali is fighting it off but St Pierre persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mali's guard against the cage.
Mali will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
St Pierre missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

St Pierre drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mali looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mali looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mali!
St Pierre sneaks back into half guard.
St Pierre is pressing down on Mali's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

St Pierre kicks Mali off and gets to his feet.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mali napping and manages to drive through into side control!
