Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcon McDowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bova's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I came to bring the pain!. Tony Bova has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Bova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Malcon McDowell!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDowell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tony Bova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bova avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Bova closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McDowell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bova's best efforts.
Bova is nestled in close to McDowell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bova not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McDowell wants to get back to full guard but Bova has mounted him!
McDowell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Bova is working for a guillotine from mount but McDowell frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDowell is looking to improve his position but Bova isn't that keen on the idea.
Bova raining down shots from the mount!

Bova swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and McDowell is now in Bova's guard. A big mistake from Bova there, giving up the dominant position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDowell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
McDowell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bova's guard.
Bova tries to strike from the bottom.
Bova wants to sweep here but McDowell controlling him for the moment.
McDowell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McDowell trying to control the position from guard on top but Bova is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McDowell sitting in guard here, content to control.
McDowell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bova throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Bova trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
McDowell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McDowell throwing strikes from guard but Bova blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Bova dominated that round.
That's time! Bova's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bova.
Bova closes the distance but McDowell moves to the side
and McDowell counters with a three punch combo that has Bova backing up. Bova nods at McDowell to acknowledge the strikes.
McDowell connects with a jab.
Bova takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McDowell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McDowell clinches with his opponent.

McDowell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bova fails with a takedown attempt.
McDowell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bova backs up against the cage.
McDowell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bova.


Bova is rocked!


It looks like Tony Bova has been cut.
Bova ducks into an uppercut from McDowell and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Malcon McDowell!
