Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Niko Belic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Kovas!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovas misses with a wild combination.
Jab, jab by Kovas - just one landing.
It looks like Niko Belic has been cut.
Belic has taken the fight to the clinch.
Belic makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Belic has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kovas is trying to keep an underhook but Belic manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Belic throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Belic decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Belic throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kovas counters with a three punch combo that has Belic backing up. Belic nods at Kovas to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kovas falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kovas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kovas ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Kovas cracks Belic with a big right hand and Belic goes down!
Belic is breathing heavily.
Kovas trying to control the position from guard on top but Belic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Belic preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Belic controls Kovas momentarily but Kovas frees himself.
Kovas wants to get up but he can't break Belic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kovas wants to control from the top but Belic keeps moving.
Kovas works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Belic wants to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A jab-cross combination lands for Kovas and sends Belic crashing to the mat! Kovas follows him down to the mat - Belic regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kovas wants to work for an arm triangle but Belic is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kovas wants to stand but Belic has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

Belic is looking to get back to is feet but Kovas passes into side control.
Kovas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belic keeps working.
Kovas stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Victor Kovas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belic throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kovas scores with a decent looking hook.
Donk. Kovas catches Belic right on the button with a cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kovas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The crowd cheers as Kovas lands an impressive looking overhand right. Belic doesn't seem phased though.
Belic looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kovas lands a right hand from hell, dropping Belic. Kovas pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Victor Kovas!
