Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Aqua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Fish! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish tries to close the distance and clinch but Aqua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Aqua has a takedown stuffed. Aqua shoots in for a takedown but Fish shows good takedown defense. Aqua shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fish wants to control but Aqua is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aqua prevents Fish from improving his position. Fish is trying to stand back up but Aqua is controlling him
Aqua keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Fish is trying to control but can't.
Aqua is trying to control. Fish wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Aqua is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Fish has managed to free his arm - good work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Aqua displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fish.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fish tries to clinch there but Aqua circles away.
Fish fails with a takedown attempt. Aqua showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fish.
Fish looks gassed! Excellent takedown into side control there by Aqua. Aqua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fish keeps working. Fish tries to bench press Aqua off him but Aqua keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aqua controlling the position. Fish gets back to half guard. Fish is staying active underneath Aqua, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Aqua in particular looking to stall. Aqua passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fish! Fish is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aqua controlling his opponent. Aqua seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fish for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Steve Aqua just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Fish tries to clinch up but Aqua circles away and keeps his distance. Aqua shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fish defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Aqua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fish tries to clinch but Aqua moves out of range. Fish tries to clinch there but Aqua circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fish is looking to clinch but Aqua is avoiding it.

Aqua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fish. Aqua dives in and grabs Fish's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fish pushes down on Aqua's head and hops out. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Aqua.
Fish gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fish keeping moving, preventing Aqua from controlling successfully. Fish will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fish is on top in guard.
Fish throwing strikes from guard but Aqua blocks nicely. Fish preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Aqua dominated that round. That's time! Aqua's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Aqua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fish pinned against the cage. Fish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Aqua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fish shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aqua but Aqua pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fish tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aqua swats him away and circles back towards the center. Aqua dodges the punch combination from Fish.

Aqua throws a quick inside leg kick. Aqua shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fish defends it nicely. Aqua fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fish sprawls well initially but Aqua persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Well, if Aqua is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aqua wants to pass to mount but Fish is defending the position. Aqua sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fish defending well though. Aqua is looking to advance position but Fish won't allow it. Fish is refusing to be controlled, as Aqua sits in half guard. Aqua is thwarting Fish's attempts to control the position. Fish pushes Aqua off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Aqua keeps the fight on the outside. Fish shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Aqua counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Aqua has Fish pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fish manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Aqua. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fish tries to score a body lock takedown but Aqua shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A head punch on the inside from Fish fails to land. Fish jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aqua walks away with a smile on his face. Fish gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nice takedown defense from Fish. No joy for Aqua on that attempt. Aqua shoots for a double leg takedown but Fish sprawls well. He's pushed Aqua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Aqua tries for a takedown but Fish sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Fish tries to clinch up and Aqua counters by clinching up. A short right from Fish on the inside. Aqua breaks the clinch.
Fish looks to clinch and Aqua counters with a nice low kick that buckles Fish's knee momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aqua connects with a solid leg kick. Aqua slaps away a takedown attempt from Fish, before circling back to the center of the mat. Aqua takes the fight into the clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Aqua.
The is referee keeping an eye on Aqua - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A short right from Fish. Fish wants to get back to striking at distance but Aqua won't allow it.
Fish drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aqua gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Aqua decides to pull guard. Fish lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Aqua looking for a sweep. Not yet Aqua, not yet. Fish stands up over Aqua, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aqua throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fish escapes and throws Aqua's legs to the side, diving into side control! Fish is looking to take a break and control but Aqua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Aqua is looking for a sweep. Aqua is working hard here to advance position. Aqua is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fish off and has taken his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Aqua dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Fish. Fish working away. Fish misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Aqua is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Aqua gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Fish looks to land a strike but Aqua avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Aqua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fish doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fish manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Aqua looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Aqua is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fish is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aqua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fish gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fish in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fish preventing the sweep. Aqua not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Fish takes the fight into the clinch. Fish goes for a takedown in the clinch but Aqua prevents it.
Aqua scores with a hook to the body. Aqua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fish misses with a double jab
and Aqua counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Fish misses with the head strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fish swings wildly with an uppercut but Aqua uses good head movement to avoid it. Fish tries to score a body lock takedown but Aqua shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Aqua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fish doesn't succeed with the takedown and Aqua counters with a takedown into side control. Steve Aqua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Fish. Aqua happy to just control the position for now. Fish struggling a bit here. Aqua creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Fish sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Aqua wants to control but Fish is keeping him busy. Fish pushes Aqua away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Aqua gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fish tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aqua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Aqua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fish keeps working. Aqua tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. No luck for Aqua with that takedown attempt. Aqua circles away from the clinch attempt and Aqua counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Aqua. Aqua trying to control the position from guard on top but Fish is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fish thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fish keeping full guard, as Aqua tries to pass. Fish tries to strike from the bottom.
