The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cortez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cortez throws a half hearted mid kick. Cortez darts in and clinches Stryker up against the cage. Cortez manages to break the clinch.
Cortez scoring well with a low kick there.
Cortez throws a head kick that misses. Stryker looks to clinch and Cortez counters with a right hand to the body. Cortez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cortez scores with a decent looking hook. Stryker takes a body punch but keeps moving. Cortez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cortez moves into the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Stryker avoiding damage as Cortez throws knees to the body.
Cortez is looking to control Stryker's arms but Stryker gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cortez has his back to the cage. Cortez breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cortez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cortez pushes Stryker up against the cage in a clinch. Cortez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stryker takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Stryker doesn't manage to clinch there - Cortez circles away.

A combination from Stryker does no damage. A punch combination from Stryker misses. Cortez tries to clinch there but Stryker circles away.
Stryker avoids the body shot from Cortez.
Cortez throws a nice inside leg kick. Max Cortez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stryker looks gassed! Cortez moves in looking to clinch but Stryker pushes him off. Cortez tries a head kick but it misses.
Stryker darts in trying to clinch and Cortez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Stryker tries to close the distance and clinch but Cortez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cortez lands with a shot to the body. Stryker looks to land a combination but Cortez avoids it well. Cortez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cortez throws a nice looking combination but Stryker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cortez throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Cortez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stryker walks into a jab. Max Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cortez lands a nice looking body kick. Cortez is looking to slow Stryker down with leg kicks. Cortez connects with the punch. Cortez lands with a kick to the temple. Stryker shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cortez lands a nice looking body kick. Cortez lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Stryker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cortez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cortez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Stryker takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Cortez moves into range and connects with a jab. A solid leg kick lands there for Cortez.
Stryker misses with a body kick. Stryker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Cortez throws a head kick that misses. Cortez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cortez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cortez wants to clinch up but Stryker keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cortez keeps the fight on the outside. Cortez tries to clinch there but Stryker circles away.
Cortez tries to clinch up but Stryker circles away and keeps his distance. Cortez looks to land a body kick but Stryker moved away. Stryker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Cortez tries to hold on but Stryker postures up. Stryker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cortez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stryker tries to control but Cortez wriggling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stryker with shots to the head and body - Cortez looks very uncomfortable down there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Cortez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Stryker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Cortez moves into the clinch. Cortez lands a knee to the head.
Stryker is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cortez is defending well for now. Cortez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Max Cortez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cortez pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stryker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cortez avoids it really well and circles away. Stryker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cortez counters with an inside leg kick. Stryker walks forward, straight into a front kick from Cortez. Cortez throws a head kick that misses. Cortez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stryker. Jab by Cortez. Cortez throws a series of strikes that have Stryker backpedaling.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cortez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Max Cortez is winning the standup battle so far. Cortez wants to clinch up but Stryker keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cortez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Stryker showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cortez.
Cortez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stryker manages to avoid it. Cortez instigates a clinch. Cortez tries to break free but Stryker pushes him back against the cage. Stryker pulls Cortez into guard.
Stryker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cortez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cortez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stryker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cortez controls the pace. Cortez tries to free his leg and advance position but Stryker is retaining full guard. Cortez wants to get up but he can't break Stryker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Cortez is working Stryker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stryker pulls Cortez in close to prevent any damage. Stryker wriggles free and stands up. Cortez wants to clinch but Stryker slips to the side and Stryker counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Stryker is trying to break the clinch but Cortez is controlling him. Cortez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cortez scores with a one two! Stryker had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Cortez tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Stryker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cortez! Stryker punching from mount but Cortez doing a good job of avoiding damage. Cortez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cortez is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stryker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cortez looks a forlorn figure.
Stryker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cortez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Cortez tries to reverse the position but Stryker maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Stryker trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cortez wants to hold on but Stryker pushes him away. Stryker gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Cortez instigates a clinch. Cortez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stryker jumps into guard, dragging Cortez to the mat.
Stryker scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Cortez thumps Stryker with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Charles Stryker will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Stryker clinches but Cortez breaks the clinch and Cortez counters by moving into the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Stryker.

Cortez stuffs the takedown attempt from Stryker. Stryker gets slowly back to his feet. Cortez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Stryker tries to clinch up. Cortez stalks Stryker and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stryker's face. Stryker staggers backwards, shaken. Cortez tries to clinch up. Stryker rushes Cortez and presses him up against the cage. Cortez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cortez trying to land knees to the body.
Stryker misses with a knee to the head. Cortez manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cortez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stryker in his tracks. Cortez clinches with his opponent.
Stryker wants a takedown but no success here.

Cortez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A head kick misses from Cortez. Cortez throws a head kick but Stryker moves out of range.
Stryker is looking to land body kicks. Stryker scores a takedown into full mount! Stryker thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Cortez tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stryker cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Cortez wants to control but Stryker is having none of it. Stryker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cortez is looking to escape. Stryker wants to control but Cortez has made it back to half guard. Nice work. Cortez controlling the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cortez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stryker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cortez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stryker is looking to clinch but Cortez is avoiding it.
A left lands for Stryker. Cortez scores with a nice right hand.
Stryker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cortez is looking to regain half guard here but Stryker keeps moving and retains side control. Stryker working the ground and pound but Cortez is defending the strikes. Stryker decides to stand back up. Stryker steps back and let's Cortez get back to his feet. Cortez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stryker. Max Cortez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Stryker.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stryker tries to score with a low kick but Cortez moves his leg out of the way. Cortez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cortez throws a head kick but Stryker moves out of range.
Cortez misses with a straight left. Stryker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cortez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stryker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cortez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Stryker if he has to take too many more of those.
Cortez moves out of range as Stryker strikes. Stryker is looking to clinch but Cortez is avoiding it.
Cortez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stryker darts in and clinches Cortez up against the cage. Cortez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Stryker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Stryker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
