Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cyrus Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Randy The Snake! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. The Snake pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The Snake misses with a looping left. The Snake looks to throw the jab but Castro is out of range. Castro ducks under a wild hook from The Snake. Castro avoids the body shot from The Snake.
The Snake clobbers Castro with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castro tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Snake sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Castro somewhat. The Snake looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Snake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The Snake catches Castro with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Cyrus Castro has been cut. Castro slips under a jab. The Snake drops Castro with a right and a left! The Snake comes rushing in but Castro regains his composure and manages to keep The Snake in guard.
Castro is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Castro throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Oh Castro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The Snake trying to stand up but can't free himself from Castro's guard. Castro seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castro wants to sweep here but The Snake controlling him for the moment. Castro working a defensive guard here.
Castro is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! The Snake rolls with it to try and escape but Castro cranks on the arm and The Snake is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
