Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bisonrouge Animal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingston has chosen Heavy by Collective Soul as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bisonrouge Animal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Kingston! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Animal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Animal holds on and takes a little breather. Animal has his foot on Kingston's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kingston works his way back into a safe position though. Kingston is looking to work some ground and pound but Animal has wrist control. Kingston won't allow Animal to sweep him here. Kingston lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Animal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Animal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kingston wants to get up but he can't break Animal's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kingston working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kingston trying to control but Animal is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Animal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kingston gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kingston postures up and lands a big shot to Animal's brow. Animal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kingston defends well. Kingston has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Animal is breathing heavily. Kingston wants to control from the top but Animal keeps moving. Kingston stands and steps away. Animal gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kingston shoots in and bounces Animal off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Animal keeping moving, preventing Kingston from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingston is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Animal isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kingston stacks Animal on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kingston! Kingston scoring with punches and elbows. Kingston working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Animal is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Animal is not in a great position here, taking some shots. A control attempt from Animal but he's now mounted! Kingston gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Kingston lands a head kick!
A head kick misses from Kingston. Kingston shoots in but no luck this time. Kingston shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Animal as he avoids it easily. Kingston slaps away a takedown attempt from Animal, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kingston lands a head kick. Animal smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Animal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kingston. Kingston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Animal. Kingston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kingston gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Animal counters with a head kick. Bisonrouge Animal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Kingston. Kingston throws a series of strikes that have Animal backpedaling.
Kingston fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Animal misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Animal tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Kingston dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A thudding body kick lands there by Kingston!
Kingston displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Animal throws out the jab. Kingston throws a head kick but Animal moves out of range.
Animal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Animal wants to pass the guard but Kingston is keeping the position. Kingston wants to sweep here but Animal controlling him for the moment. Animal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kingston working for a triangle but Animal defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Animal cracks Kingston with a solid left hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Animal advances to half guard. Animal looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kingston throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Kingston pushes Animal off and gets back to his feet. Kingston moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kingston has Animal up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A shot to de liver by Kingston. Beautiful body shot. Kingston drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Richard Kingston has got the better of the ground game so far. Animal looking for a sweep. Not yet Animal, not yet. Animal has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kingston is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Animal. Kingston is trying to get an arm triangle but Animal is defending well. Kingston tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kingston has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Animal is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kingston is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Animal knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kingston working the strikes but Animal uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Animal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kingston is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Animal tries to get to full guard but Kingston has control of the leg. Kingston in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Animal tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kingston!
