PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Travis The Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PATRIK HORN (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Rock staying out of range there.
The Rock fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from HORN. No joy for The Rock on that attempt.
HORN pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The Rock tries to clinch there but HORN circles away.
HORN fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The Rock feints and as HORN raises his hands in defense, The Rock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
HORN keeping moving, preventing The Rock from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

HORN has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The Rock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The Rock wants to pass the guard but HORN is keeping the position.

HORN is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The Rock escapes and gets back to his feet.
HORN fails with a takedown attempt.

The Rock clobbers HORN with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The Rock dives in and grabs HORN's left leg, looking for a takedown. HORN pushes down on The Rock's head and hops out.

The Rock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. HORN looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The Rock is staying tight to HORN's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The Rock seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The Rock wants to work for an arm triangle but HORN is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
HORN wants to control but The Rock is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The Rock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The Rock tries to stand but his hand is stuck under HORN.
HORN manages to get to full guard.

The Rock got a little sloppy there for a moment and HORN has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, The Rock has managed to get both his arms back between HORN's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The Rock trying to control but HORN is working from the bottom.
The Rock seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis The Rock dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The Rock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

so HORN counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
HORN must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
HORN works a leg free and moves into half guard.

HORN seems to be working for a kimura but The Rock defends the submission attempt.
The Rock is refusing to be controlled, as HORN sits in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The Rock seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

HORN has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for The Rock. Oh but HORN has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! The Rock goes limp - he's gone! HORN jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
