Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stripe wants to clinch.
Steyn shoots for a takedown but Stripe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stripe tries to bum rush Steyn with a series of wild strikes but Steyn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Steyn wants to clinch.
Stripe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Tyson Stripe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steyn fails to land the takedown.

Stripe clinches up with Steyn and pushes him back against the cage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Stripe stands up and beckons Steyn to his feet.
Steyn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stripe is not content to let Steyn control the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Steyn seems to be working for a kimura but Stripe defends the submission attempt.

Stripe lands an elbow that stopped Steyn in his tracks for a moment.
Still in the clinch, Stripe scores with a nice short uppercut.
Steyn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stripe walks away with a smile on his face. Steyn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice shot lands for Steyn.

Stripe looks for a takedown but Steyn sprawls well.
Steyn closes the distance and clinches up with Stripe, looking for a takedown. Steyn pushes Stripe against the cage but Stripe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustav Steyn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Steyn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Steyn is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Stripe frees his head nicely. Oh but Steyn has switched to an armbar! Stripe is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
