Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Don Pedrosyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owain Gruffydd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gruffydd has chosen International Velvet as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Pedrosyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Owain Gruffydd!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gruffydd keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gruffydd slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Pedrosyan looks for a takedown but Gruffydd sprawls well.
Pedrosyan shoots for a double leg takedown but Gruffydd sprawls well. He's pushed Pedrosyan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pedrosyan swings around for an armbar but Gruffydd sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pedrosyan's guard.

Pedrosyan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gruffydd defends well.

Gruffydd throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gruffydd connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Pedrosyan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gruffydd sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pedrosyan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gruffydd will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pedrosyan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Pedrosyan is going olschool here, as he tries to force Gruffydd to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gruffydd shrugs it off.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gruffydd can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pedrosyan has control of Gruffydd's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gruffydd regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Pedrosyan has hold of Gruffydd's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gruffydd manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Pedrosyan wants to finish this one by submission but Gruffydd is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pedrosyan.

Gruffydd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pedrosyan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Owain Gruffydd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pedrosyan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gruffydd looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gruffydd looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gruffydd!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pedrosyan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pedrosyan.

Pedrosyan has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gruffydd doesn't defend quickly enough and Pedrosyan has managed to lock this one up! Can Gruffydd escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pedrosyan on a fantastic submission victory.
