Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bones McBoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogueira comes into the arena with No limit - 2UNLIMITED blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira fails to land the takedown.

McBoo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

McBoo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McBoo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

McBoo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nogueira had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McBoo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nogueira Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McBoo's back instead.
Nogueira is not going to allow McBoo to sit and survive in this position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bones McBoo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McBoo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McBoo wants to pass the guard but Nogueira is defending well.

McBoo wants to work for an arm triangle but Nogueira is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

McBoo is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Nogueira reverses the position - he's now on top in McBoo's guard.

Nogueira doesn't succeed with the takedown

so McBoo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Nogueira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McBoo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McBoo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
