The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shagowitcz fails to land the takedown.
Shagowitcz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Smith has eaten all the pies!
Shagowitcz shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Shagowitcz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shagowitcz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Shagowitcz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Smith works his way to full guard. Good work.
Shagowitcz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Shagowitcz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smith throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shagowitcz is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shagowitcz fails to land the takedown.
Shagowitcz tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shagowitcz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard.
Smith is looking to stand up but Shagowitcz isn't so interested in that idea.
Shagowitcz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now.
Smith throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Shagowitcz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shagowitcz's guard.
Shagowitcz is breathing heavily.
Smith working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Shagowitcz pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
