PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Belisle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asher Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Asher Morris was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Asher Morris!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belisle throws a head kick but Morris moves out of range.

Belisle scores with a takedown into Morris's guard.
Morris is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Belisle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Morris keeping moving, preventing Belisle from controlling successfully.
Belisle missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Belisle won't allow Morris to sweep him here.

Belisle trying to control the position from guard on top but Morris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Morris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Belisle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Morris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Morris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Steve Belisle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A close second round but Asher Morris will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Belisle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Morris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Belisle has managed to get both his arms back between Morris's legs - danger averted.
Morris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belisle controls the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Belisle.
Well Belisle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
