Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between aadam bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Van Laere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Laere wants to clinch.
Van Laere misses with a head kick.

bird moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

bird really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Van Laere tries to control the position but bird now has his back.
Van Laere is trying to get back to his feet but bird has full control of the position and if anything, Van Laere has just worked his way into a worse spot.

bird is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Van Laere has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Van Laere throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around bird's waist but bird gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Laere off to one side.

bird is pressed up against the cage. Van Laere has hold of a leg and is looking to drag bird down to the mat. bird avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

bird closes the distance and clinches up with Van Laere, looking for a takedown. bird pushes Van Laere against the cage but Van Laere circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Van Laere is trying to drag bird to the mat but bird just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Van Laere has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

so bird counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Robin Van Laere showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Van Laere fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. bird sprawls well initially but Van Laere persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horrible takedown by bird or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Laere which made him look bad.
Van Laere is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by bird.

Robin Van Laere comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Van Laere has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
