Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Drederic Tatum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Webster! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Webster slips a jab from Tatum. Tatum throws a series of punches but Webster avoids them all with ease. Tatum throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Webster sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tatum misses with a two punch combination.
Webster slips under a jab. Tatum stuffs the takedown attempt from Webster. Webster gets slowly back to his feet. Webster is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Webster blocks a leg kick. Tatum throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Webster sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tatum misses the jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tatum throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tatum throws a nice outside leg kick. Tatum misses with a wild combination.
A lazy left from Tatum finds it's target. Tatum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Webster to the mat! Webster manages to get full guard. Webster pulls Tatum in close to prevent any damage. Webster wants to sweep here but Tatum controlling him for the moment. Webster trying to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Webster showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tatum.
Webster shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Webster was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Webster controlling the position easily from mount. Tatum is squirming around, avoiding Webster's attempts to control the action. Webster controlling from mount. Tatum is trying to escape the mount.
Tatum is working hard here to advance position. Webster content just to control the position here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tatum sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Webster is pressing down on Tatum's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tatum is holding on for now. Tatum is looking for a sweep. Webster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tatum actively working from the bottom here. Webster not doing much here.
Tatum wants to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Webster in particular looking to stall. Tatum regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drederic Tatum dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Webster checks a leg kick. Good shot there by Tatum. Webster tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Tatum tries a low kick but Webster avoids it. Tatum misses with the combination.
A punch combination from Tatum misses. Tatum misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tatum throws a jab but it's blocked by Webster. Tatum with a lazy takedown attempt and Webster counters with a nice double leg into guard. Webster trying to control the position from guard on top but Tatum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Webster is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Webster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Webster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tatum is keeping the position for now. Webster seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tatum looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tatum is looking for a triangle but Webster pushes his legs off easily.
Tatum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Webster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Webster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Webster trying to control the position from guard on top but Tatum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Webster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tatum swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Tatum looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Webster trying to control but Tatum is working from the bottom. Webster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tatum swivels though and keeps the full guard. Webster controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tatum misses with a hook. Webster ducked under it nicely. Tatum throws a right and a left that both miss. Tatum lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Tatum lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatum throws a leg kick but Webster sees it coming and moves out of range. Webster shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tatum counters with a one-two to the body. Tatum throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tatum misses with a head kick.
Tatum swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Webster misses with a takedown attempt and Tatum counters with a series of strikes. Webster will be more careful next time no doubt. Tatum thows a body shot but no joy. Tatum scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tatum scores a takedown into full mount! Webster is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tatum working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Tatum avoids the attempt from Webster to control. Webster defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Tatum. Tatum looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Webster is looking to improve his position but Tatum isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tatum is looking for a kimura but Webster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tatum to get the leverage. Tatum is looking to advance position but Webster won't allow it. Webster controlling the position for now. Tatum wants to control but Webster is keeping him busy. Tatum is working for a kimura but Webster is defending it quite comfortably.
Webster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tatum is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Webster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tatum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Webster controlling the position. Tatum is not content to let Webster control the position. Tatum regains half guard. Tatum looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Tatum wants to get back to full guard. Webster is taking a breather. Tatum says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Webster is trying to control the action in half guard but Tatum is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Webster content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatum slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tatum escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Webster gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Webster wants to pass the guard but Tatum is keeping the position. Tatum is looking for a triangle but Webster pushes his legs off easily.
Tatum can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Webster controls the pace. Drederic Tatum overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Webster stands and throws Tatum's legs to the side, diving into side control. Webster tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Webster is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tatum struggling a bit here. Tatum tries to get back to half guard but can't. Webster wants to control but Tatum is keeping him busy. Tatum is trying to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tatum swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Webster. Webster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. James Webster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tatum throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that's the end of the fight! Drederic Tatum showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tatum has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
