The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sarsgaard wants to stand back up but Stone manages to pass into side control.
Stone trying to control the position but Sarsgaard is working away. Sarsgaard is trying to get back to his feet. Sarsgaard takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Stone scores with a couple of short elbows. Stone connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sarsgaard some visible discomfort.
Stone wants to control but Sarsgaard is keeping him busy. Stone cracks Sarsgaard with an elbow. That is naaassty. Stone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sarsgaard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stone wants to control but Sarsgaard is keeping him busy. Stone taking a breather here. Stone landing strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sarsgaard is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Sarsgaard looks gassed! Stone prevents Sarsgaard from escaping the position. Stone wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sarsgaard, who protects the arm well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stone is working Sarsgaard over with some ground and pound from side control. Stone is trying to get an arm triangle but Sarsgaard is defending well. Stone has hold of Sarsgaard's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sarsgaard seems comfortable defending it but Stone has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sarsgaard is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sarsgaard is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Stone couldn't care less - he's delighted!
