Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Max Pain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Rush!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush is looking to clinch.
Rush looks gassed!

Pain shoots in and bounces Rush off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pain controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pain thows a big elbow that misses.

Pain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Rush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rush avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Pain looking to pass the guard.
Pain slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rush shoots and misses

and Pain counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pain passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rush!
Pain sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Pain throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Pain looking to control but Rush is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rush working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pain trying to control but Rush is having none of it.

Pain has hold of Rush's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rush manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Pain working for a submission but Rush is keeping him at bay.
Rush is squirming around, avoiding Pain's attempts to control the action.

Pain looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Pain wants to control the pace but Rush is squirming around nicely.

Pain is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rush has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rush!
Pain looking for a sweep. Not yet Pain, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rush throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Pain decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rush's guard.
Rush can't keep his opponent in guard - Pain advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Pain is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Rush has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rush is trying to control but can't.
Rush is looking for a sweep. Pain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rush avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pain.

Pain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rush doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pain.

Pain is looking for a kimura but Rush is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pain to get the leverage.
Pain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rush does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rush is trying to stand up here but Pain is controlling him well.
Pain is looking to advance position but Rush won't allow it.
Rush moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rush utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Pain won't allow Rush to sweep him here.
Max Pain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rush is trying to control the position but Pain postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pain scores a takedown into full mount!
Rush tries to lock up and control but Pain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pain thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Pain prevents Rush from getting the reversal.

Pain fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Pain throwing strikes here but Rush is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Pain controlling from mount.
Rush tries to reverse the position but Pain maintains control.
Rush wants to control but Pain is having none of it.
Rush working to try and regain half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rush tries to lock up and control but Pain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pain lands a nice shot to the head.
Pain controlling his opponent.
Rush is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rush tries to hold on but Pain pushes him away.

Pain looking to secure an arm triangle but Rush defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Pain dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Rush walks into a straight right hand from Pain.
Pain checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pain prevents Rush from getting the reversal.
Pain unloads with some shots from mount but Rush bucks and avoids them well.

Pain gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Rush wants to clinch up but Pain keeps it at a distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pain drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pain passes Rush's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pain is keen to just control but Rush is a slippery customer.

Pain seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rush is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Max Pain!
