Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Pavlic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Scott is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maximus Pavlic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christian Scott!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott closes the distance and pushes Pavlic back into the cage.
Scott lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Maximus Pavlic has been cut.

Scott has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pavlic uses from the top position.

Pavlic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Scott manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pavlic has Scott in his guard.

I looks like Scott might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Scott wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pavlic drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Scott dives on top into guard.

Scott takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Christian Scott just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. Pavlic tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pavlic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
