Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shock Wave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Mora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mora has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Shock Wave looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shock Wave! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergio Mora! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mora misses with the combination.
Mora looks gassed! Wave tries a head kick but it misses.
Wave keeps the fight on the outside. Mora looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wave cracks Mora with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mora throws a right hand that Wave ducks under and follows up with a left that Wave also avoids with ease. Wave is looking to chop away at Mora's legs. Wave tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mora swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wave has Mora up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wave blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Wave pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wave gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Wave creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Wave drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wave wriggles free and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wave moves into range and connects with a jab. Wave rushes Mora and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mora keeps control of Wave as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wave escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mora lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Wave has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mora avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Mora wants to clinch and Wave counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sergio Mora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mora instigates a clinch. Wave tries to score a body lock takedown but Mora shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mora manages to break the clinch.

and Wave counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mora wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wave gets control of Mora's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wave will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Wave tries to strike from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wave throws a lazy right hand but Mora sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Wave has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wave is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mora tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wave swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mora looks to land a combination but Wave avoids it well. Wave tests Mora's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wave keeps the fight on the outside. Mora checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mora moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Wave dodges the punch combination from Mora.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wave moves into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Wave. Mora breaks the clinch.

Mora lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wave backwards. Wave changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mora fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mora tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Wave to counter with a crisp jab. Wave has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mora looks to clinch and Wave counters with a low kick, right behind Mora 's knee. Mora tries to grapple but his opponent circles enabling Wave to counter with a crisp jab. Wave throws a hook to the side of Mora's head but Mora sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Wave throws the kick towards the body but Mora avoids it. Mora tries to clinch but Wave moves out of range. Mora will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wave looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mora tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Wave to counter with a crisp jab. Sergio Mora has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shock Wave is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mora rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wave moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mora throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Wave to counter with a crisp jab.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shock Wave. Well Wave has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
