Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stephen Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Fry! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fry showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Davis.
Davis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fry! Davis working Fry over with strikes here. Fry gets back to half guard. Fry is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard. Fry preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Fry tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg. Davis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Fry is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Davis pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis wants to stand but Fry has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Fry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Davis not doing much here.
Davis wants to free his trapped foot but Fry is holding on for dear life with his legs. Fry wants to improve his position but Davis is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fry lands with a kick to the ribs.
Davis throws a body punch but Fry moves out of range. Fry is looking to clinch but Davis is avoiding it.
Stephen Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Davis scores with a hook to the body. Fry takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Davis tries for a takedown but Fry sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Davis is breathing heavily. Davis lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Chris Fry has been cut. Fry fails in his attempt to clinch. Davis tries to clinch but Fry moves away and Fry counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Davis being controlled here, momentarily. Davis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fry is fighting to break Davis's control of his arms but Davis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Davis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fry is one step ahead there. Fry passes easily into side control. Nice work. Davis is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Davis gets back to half guard. Davis is looking to control Fry's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Davis avoid being mounted? Davis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Davis tries to kick Fry off but Fry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davis is staying active underneath Fry, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Fry stops Davis from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Davis misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stephen Davis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chris Fry's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Davis tries to clinch up but Fry circles away and keeps his distance. Davis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fry. Fry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Davis has hold of one of Fry's legs. Fry is fighting the takedown attempt but Davis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Fry uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Fry cracks the inside of Davis's front leg. Fry tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Davis tries to keep at a distance but Fry has taken the fight into the clinch. Fry is looking to control Davis's arms but Davis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fry has his back to the cage. Fry breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davis darts in trying to clinch and Fry counters with a slapping leg kick. Davis with a poor takedown and Fry counters with a good, hard body kick but Davis shrugs it off. Fry drives through with a takedown into guard. Fry wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving. Fry prevents Davis from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fry is breathing heavily. Davis looking for a sweep. Not yet Davis, not yet. Fry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davis's guard. Davis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davis tries to get out of the position. Davis striking from the bottom. Fry is thwarting Davis's attempts to control the position. Davis is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fry wants to take a breather but Davis is having none of it. Fry missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Davis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Davis tries to clinch up and Fry counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Fry, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Fry against the cage but Fry circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fry clinches. Davis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Fry has Davis pushed against the cage. Davis stalling the fight.
Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice combo by Davis! Oh, that's hurt him - Fry falls to the canvas and Davis follows him into side control.
Fry is rocked! Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fry is still in real trouble! Can Davis finish him? Fry manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis is trying to stand up here but Fry is controlling him well. Fry seems to have recovered his senses. Davis wants to get back to full guard. Fry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Davis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fry. Davis landing strikes from the bottom. Davis pushes Fry off and gets back to his feet. Fry drives through and clinches with Davis against the cage.
Davis lands a left hand.
The referee calls for Davis to work.
Davis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fry as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis throws a right and a left that both miss. Davis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fry clinches up against the cage. Fry lands an elbow inside that Davis shrugs off. Davis wants to get back to striking at distance but Fry won't allow it.

Fry works on Davis's body with a couple of short punches. Davis has had enough of the clinch but Fry keeps him there for the moment. Fry with a knee to the head.

Davis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Davis wants to pass the guard but Fry is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. That was a close second round but I would say that Stephen Davis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Fry's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Davis lands with a big left! Fry is wobbled badly! Davis comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Fry to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
