Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukasz Korczynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Mir looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lukasz Korczynski!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korczynski swinging wilding here.
Mir fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Korczynski misses with a wild combination.
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Korczynski shows good takedown defense.
Oooh a lovely combination from Korczynski sends Mir down but not out. Korczynski dives into side control looking to finish.


It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Mir is breathing heavily.

Korczynski decides to stand back up. Korczynski steps back and let's Mir get back to his feet.
Korczynski drops Mir with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mir looks back up at him and smiles so Korczynski waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Mir is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Korczynski lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mir at a distance.
Oh Mir is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lukasz Korczynski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Korczynski throws a right and a left that Mir avoids nicely.
Mir seems to have got his legs back now.
Mir looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Korczynski bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
A combination from Korczynski does no damage.

Korczynski misses with a wild combination.
Korczynski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Korczynski lands with a straight right. Mir didn't see that one coming.
Korczynski misses with a body shot.
Korczynski throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.

Mir closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mir lands in his opponent's guard.

Mir drops back looking for a leg! Korczynski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Korczynski manages to kick Mir off! Mir jumps back into Korczynski's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mir stops Korczynski from standing up.

Korczynski keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully.
Mir will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mir won't allow Korczynski to get back to his feet.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Korczynski has eaten all the pies!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Korczynski misses with a series of wild punches.
Korczynski throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.
Korczynski stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mir bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Korczynski wants to get back to his feet.
Mir grinds an elbow into Korczynski's temple.
Korczynski is trying to buck Mir off.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mir cracks Korczynski with a big elbow.

Mir prevents Korczynski from escaping the position.
Korczynski is not content to let Mir control the position.

Mir working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Korczynski is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Korczynski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Korczynski throws a hook but Mir blocks it.
Korczynski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mir takes one on the button.
Korczynski misses with a double jab.

Mir moves into the clinch successfully.

Mir breaks the clinch.
Mir dodges the punch combination from Korczynski.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mir avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mir throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Korczynski.
Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Korczynski throws a left and a right that both miss

and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Korczynski's guard.
Mir stops Korczynski from standing up.
Mir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Korczynski wants to stand but Mir is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mir has gone for a leg lock! Korczynski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mir's guard.

Korczynski wanted to stand there but Mir had control of the position.
Korczynski is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Mir striking off his back but it's not causing Korczynski any problems.

Korczynski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mir shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Korczynski as he jumps to the side.
Korczynski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Korczynski misses with the combination.
Mir connects with a high kick.
Korczynski swinging wilding here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Korczynski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Korczynski misses with a shot to the body

and Mir counters with a takedown into side control.
Korczynski is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mir connects with a decent elbow.
Korczynski is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mir is controlling him well.

Mir decides to stand back up. Mir steps back and let's Korczynski get back to his feet.
Korczynski throws a left and a right that both miss

so Mir counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Korczynski wants to stand and escape but Mir is having none of it.
Mir is standing up over Korczynski. Korczynski looks to escape but Mir dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Frank Mir's cut.
That's time! Mir's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Mir drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Korczynski wants to stand but Mir is controlling the position.

Mir drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Korczynski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mir has Korczynski in his guard.
Mir controls Korczynski momentarily but Korczynski frees himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Korczynski would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mir looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Korczynski is defending well. Mir quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Korczynski has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Mir celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Mir!
