Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Krestner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krestner's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Remember the Name. Aaron Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Krestner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Smith! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krestner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Krestner keeps the fight on the outside. Smith clinches up with Krestner and pushes him back against the cage. Krestner wants a takedown.
Krestner tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith jumps guard and drags Krestner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Krestner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Krestner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. That's one minute gone in the round. Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Krestner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Krestner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head. Krestner trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith working for a triangle but Krestner defends it easily.
Smith looks gassed! Krestner chips away with some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krestner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Krestner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Krestner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krestner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Krestner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Krestner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Krestner with a nice head shot there. Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Krestner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Krestner advances position into side control! Krestner cracks Smith with a big elbow.

Krestner grinds an elbow into Smith's temple. Krestner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Krestner cracks Smith with a big elbow. Krestner is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Krestner landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Krestner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smith knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Smith struggling a bit here. Krestner is working Smith over with some ground and pound from side control. Krestner working the ground and pound. Smith is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krestner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Krestner finishes the takedown easily into guard. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krestner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krestner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Smith throws his legs up looking for a submission but Krestner uses it to pass to side control.
Krestner is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well. Krestner cracks Smith with an elbow. That is naaassty. Krestner scoring with punches from side control. Smith is breathing heavily. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Krestner's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Krestner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smith defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krestner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Krestner is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Krestner pulls his head out easily. Smith trying to control but Krestner postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Krestner winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Krestner is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer. Krestner working over Smith with some ground and pound. Smith looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Krestner seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Krestner is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.
Krestner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Krestner eventually gives up the hold. Smith trying to control but Krestner postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Krestner lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krestner takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Krestner is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Smith taking some punishment here, with Krestner in his half guard. Krestner lands strikes from half guard. Smith is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Krestner scores with a couple of nice shots. Krestner is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Krestner to get the leverage. Krestner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Krestner stops Smith from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith manages to work his way to half guard, despite Krestner's best efforts. Krestner wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy. Smith manages to get to full guard.
Krestner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Smith is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Krestner has his hands clasped together but Smith extends an breaks Krestner's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Smith.
