PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Lagman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hobbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Lagman!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hobbs throws a head kick that misses.
Lagman avoids a kick to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lagman.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hobbs can't do much from the bottom here.

Hobbs wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Lagman uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Lagman is desperately trying to improve his position but Hobbs has a good base and remains in mount.

Hobbs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hobbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lagman on the ground.
