Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunes has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Nunes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Santos! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nunes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Santos's half guard. Santos is trying to control but Nunes passes into side control!
Santos manages to get back to half guard. Santos wants to get back to full guard. Nunes is just content to waste time from the top position. Santos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Nunes looking to sit in guard and control but Santos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nunes is breathing heavily. Santos sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nunes throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Santos trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nunes's guard. Nunes is looking for a triangle but Santos pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Santos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Daniel Santos just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Santos shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nunes napping and manages to drive through into side control! Santos working the head and body with strikes. You can see the frustration on Nunes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santos trying to control the position but Nunes is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Santos dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nunes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Santos counters with a shoot takedown. Nunes fights it but they end up in guard. Nunes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Santos is aware though and is defending well. Nunes working a defensive guard but Santos manages to pass into side control anyway.
Nunes pushes Santos away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Santos gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. A lull in the action here as Santos stalls from top position. Nunes tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos stands up and we're back to a striking position. Santos scores a takedown into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santos controlling from the full mount. Nunes wants to control but Santos is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nunes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos controlling the pace for now. Santos prevents Nunes from getting the reversal. Santos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nunes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Santos goes for an armbar but Nunes turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Nunes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nunes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santos has escaped and now he's on top! Nunes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Nunes struggling a bit here. Santos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nunes has escaped the position, nice work there. Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nunes keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nunes tries to bench press Santos off him but Santos keeps the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nunes is working hard here to advance position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Santos shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nunes napping and manages to drive through into side control! Nunes is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos taking a break here but Nunes is having none of it and regains half guard. Santos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nunes looking for submissions off his back. Daniel Santos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Santos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nunes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santos.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
