Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Sotomayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Loblaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sotomayor comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman - Metallica. Bob Loblaw is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Sotomayor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Loblaw! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sotomayor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sotomayor thows a left - swing and a miss! Sotomayor circles away from the clinch attempt.
A swing and a miss from Sotomayor. Sotomayor tries to clinch and Loblaw counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sotomayor tries to roll over but Loblaw keeps him under control. Sotomayor is controlling Loblaw's trapped leg to prevent Loblaw from advancing to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Loblaw throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Loblaw not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Loblaw wants to control but Sotomayor is keeping him busy. Loblaw thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sotomayor wants to get back to full guard. Sotomayor is not content to let Loblaw control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sotomayor wants to clinch but Loblaw slips to the side and Loblaw decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sotomayor's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loblaw is looking to work some ground and pound but Sotomayor has wrist control. Loblaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Sotomayor is retaining full guard. Sotomayor wants to sweep but no luck. Loblaw has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Loblaw passes easily into side control. Nice work. Loblaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sotomayor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Loblaw working away. Loblaw wants to take a breather but Sotomayor manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Loblaw. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Loblaw wants to control from the top but Sotomayor keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sotomayor wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Loblaw loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sotomayor seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sotomayor is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sotomayor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Loblaw working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loblaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sotomayor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Loblaw wants to control from the top but Sotomayor keeps moving. Sotomayor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Loblaw manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sotomayor stands and steps away. Loblaw gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Sotomayor tries to clinch but Loblaw moves away and Loblaw counters with a nice uppercut. Sotomayor has managed to clinch.
Loblaw tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Loblaw stalling in the clinch but Sotomayor improves position. Sotomayor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Sotomayor scores with a nice hook to the head. Sotomayor prevents a body shot from Loblaw. A quick uppercut on the inside from Sotomayor. Sotomayor tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sotomayor tries a body shot but Loblaw blocks it.

Sotomayor tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Loblaw has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sotomayor is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Loblaw looks gassed! Still in the clinch, Sotomayor scores with a nice short uppercut. Sotomayor displaying some good clinch control by pressing Loblaw up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Sotomayor. Sotomayor slowing the pace effectively. Good body shot from Sotomayor.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sotomayor pushes Loblaw back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Sotomayor scores a nice knee to the body.
Sotomayor throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Sotomayor lands a hook to the side of the head. Sotomayor manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

It looks like Bob Loblaw has been cut. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sotomayor lands with a right to the head. Sotomayor throws a knee to the head but misses.
Sotomayor lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Loblaw backwards. Sotomayor lands a left hand that snaps the head of Loblaw backwards. A short right from Sotomayor on the inside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruno Sotomayor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bob Loblaw's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sotomayor tries to clinch up but Loblaw circles away and keeps his distance.
Loblaw is rocked! Sotomayor clinches up against the cage. Sotomayor tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Loblaw's elbow. Sotomayor is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Loblaw misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sotomayor.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sotomayor. Loblaw does a little dance to reset his feet. Sotomayor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Loblaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sotomayor looking for a sweep. Not yet Sotomayor, not yet. Loblaw should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Loblaw wants to control from the top but Sotomayor keeps moving. Loblaw is breathing heavily. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sotomayor holds on and takes a little breather. Loblaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Sotomayor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loblaw trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sotomayor manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Sotomayor is stalling in the full guard. Sotomayor wants to control from the top but Loblaw keeps moving. Loblaw looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sotomayor passes into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sotomayor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loblaw keeps working. Loblaw tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sotomayor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sotomayor staying calm. Loblaw tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sotomayor scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loblaw is looking to regain half guard here but Sotomayor keeps moving and retains side control. Sotomayor works to advance to full mount. Loblaw defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Sotomayor controlling the position easily from mount. Sotomayor connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Sotomayor tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Loblaw throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Sotomayor breaks from Loblaw's wrist control and lands an elbow. Loblaw is still in real trouble! Can Sotomayor finish him? Sotomayor controlling the position easily from mount. Sotomayor loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Loblaw scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sotomayor land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sotomayor stands and salutes the crowd.
