PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chase Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joerg Roessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera (Walk). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joerg Roessler!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm with a nice cross.
Storm rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roessler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Roessler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Storm avoids it really well and circles away.
Roessler has a takedown stuffed.
Storm bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Roessler's head.
Storm connects with a crisp jab.
Roessler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Storm pinned against the cage. Storm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chase Storm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joerg Roessler.
Storm displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roessler.

Roessler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Storm manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Storm throws his legs up looking for a submission but Roessler uses it to pass to side control.
Storm gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Roessler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Storm is just riding it out for now. Roessler eventually gives up the hold.

Storm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roessler pulls his head out easily.
Storm has a hand on Roessler's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Roessler takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Storm can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Storm gets back to half guard.

Storm is defending against the submission attempts here by Roessler.

Storm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roessler pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Storm looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Roessler passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roessler lands a nice shot to the head.
Storm is trying desperately to improve position.
Storm regains half guard.
Storm is looking to improve his position.

Roessler wants to work for an arm triangle but Storm is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Roessler is trying to control the action in half guard but Storm is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Storm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Storm moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Storm looking for subs off his back but Roessler has passed one foot through into half guard.

Storm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roessler pulls his head out easily.
Roessler trying to control the action but Storm is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Storm dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Storm lands a really nice looking cross but Roessler seems unphased.
Roessler has a takedown stuffed.
Storm displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Roessler lands a jab to Storm's midsection.
No luck for Roessler with that takedown attempt.
Storm fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Roessler on the side of the head.
Storm stuffs the takedown attempt from Roessler. Roessler gets slowly back to his feet.
Chase Storm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joerg Roessler.
Storm takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Storm stuffs the takedown.
A right-left combo lands from Storm.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Storm wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Storm scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Roessler takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Storm scores with a shot to the body.
Roessler is breathing heavily.

A right-left combo lands from Storm.
Storm scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Storm here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Roessler takes a jab right on the kisser.
Roessler on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Roessler takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Storm throws a series of punches but Roessler avoids them all with ease.
Chase Storm is winning the standup battle so far.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roessler.
The fighters circle momentarily. Storm darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Storm scores with a hook.
A left and a right from Storm both land. Nice combination.
Storm lands a nice hook to Roessler's body. Roessler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Storm lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roessler backs up against the cage.
Storm connects with a looping right hand.
Storm moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Roessler is rocked!
Storm drops Roessler with a naaaaasty hook - Roessler is in real trouble here! Storm dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chase Storm!
