Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Juanie Mexicano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Maignon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Maignon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juanie Mexicano! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Maignon! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mexicano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maignon swats him away and circles back towards the center. Maignon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mexicano pinned against the cage. Mexicano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mexicano shoots and misses and Maignon counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mexicano is lucky that one didn't land flush. Mexicano doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maignon counters with a nice body kick.
Maignon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mexicano counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maignon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Maignon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mexicano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mexicano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mexicano stands up from Maignon's guard - Mexicano perhaps looking for a knockout. Mexicano shoots and misses and Maignon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mexicano won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juanie Mexicano. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maignon wants to control but Mexicano is keeping him busy. Maignon stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maignon with a lazy takedown attempt and Mexicano counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mexicano. Mexicano is breathing heavily. Mexicano in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Mexicano throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Maignon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mexicano would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mexicano won't allow Maignon to get back to his feet. Mexicano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mexicano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mexicano postures up in Maignon's guard and throws a big left but Maignon blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mexicano has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Maignon is proving hard to escape from.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mexicano misses with a takedown and Maignon counters with a three punch combo that has Mexicano backing up. Mexicano nods at Maignon to acknowledge the strikes. Mexicano throws a low kick but it's checked well by Maignon. Maignon fails with the takedown and Mexicano counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Mexicano is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mexicano is just content to waste time from the top position. Maignon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Maignon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mexicano has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maignon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mexicano manages to get himself to full guard.
Maignon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mexicano has his foot on Maignon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maignon works his way back into a safe position though. Mexicano isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maignon stacks Mexicano on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maignon! Mexicano wants to get back to his feet but Maignon is dominant here and he's now got Mexicano's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maignon is looking to control Mexicano but Mexicano is wriggling around and keeping busy. Maignon lands shots from the back. Mexicano is trying to get back to his feet but Maignon has full control of the position and if anything, Mexicano has just worked his way into a worse spot. Maignon trying to control momentarily.
Mexicano tries to escape but Maignon has the hooks in and won't let him break free. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maignon wants to control but Mexicano is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Juanie Mexicano will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Mexicano shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Maignon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mexicano wants to control from the top but Maignon keeps moving. Maignon wants to stand up but Mexicano is controlling him. Mexicano working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mexicano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mexicano throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mexicano would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mexicano is looking to work some ground and pound but Maignon has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mexicano wants to control from the top but Maignon keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Maignon feints and as Mexicano raises his hands in defense, Maignon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mexicano looking for a guillotine here but Maignon defends easily.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mexicano tries to get out of the position. Maignon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Mexicano with a poor takedown and Maignon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Maignon tries to stand and escape but Mexicano is controlling the position. Mexicano wants to get back to full guard. Mexicano wants to get back to his feet. Mexicano is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maignon pulls his head out easily. Mexicano tries to get to full guard but Maignon has control of the leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Maignon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mexicano counters with a slapping leg kick. Mexicano keeps the fight on the outside. Maignon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mexicano tries to clinch but Maignon is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Maignon tries to clinch but fails miserably and Mexicano counters with a nice double leg into guard. Mexicano throwing strikes from guard but Maignon blocks nicely. Mexicano shoots in but no luck this time. Maignon clinches but Mexicano breaks the clinch and Mexicano counters with a shoot takedown. Maignon fights it but they end up in guard. Mexicano would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Maignon controlling the position. Maignon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mexicano's guard. Maignon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mexicano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maignon has managed to get both his arms back between Mexicano's legs - danger averted. Mexicano is wriggling around but Maignon manages to pass to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maignon is trying to control. Mexicano wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Maignon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Mexicano fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mexicano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juanie Mexicano. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maignon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mexicano darts in trying to clinch and Maignon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mexicano throws a right and a left that both miss. Maignon with a poor takedown and Mexicano counters with a single leg into guard. Maignon didn't expect that. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Maignon holds on and takes a little breather. Maignon keeping moving, preventing Mexicano from controlling successfully. Mexicano looking to sit in guard and control but Maignon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mexicano pushes Maignon off and scrambles back to his feet.
Mexicano needs to keep his hands up - Maignon had a free shot at his head there.

Mexicano scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Maignon is looking to control Mexicano's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maignon avoid being mounted? Maignon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mexicano. Mexicano wants to control but Maignon is keeping him busy. Mexicano tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Maignon. Mexicano throwing shots but Maignon is blocking nicely. Mexicano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maignon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mexicano missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mexicano is working for a submission of some sort.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Maignon tries to clinch up and Mexicano counters with a nice double leg into side control. Maignon won't be happy with that. Maignon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mexicano is putting a hurting on Maignon here, landing some big shots from side control. Mexicano thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mexicano wants to stand but Maignon is controlling his arm. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mexicano working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Juanie Mexicano showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mexicano has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
