Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gawen Macellius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir has chosen stranglehold as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gawen Macellius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Mir! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macellius moves into the clinch. Macellius could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Macellius looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! The referee calls for Mir to work.
Mir breaks from the clinch.
Mir shoots in and bounces Macellius off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mir sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mir working the head with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Check out the look on Mir's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir scoring with punches and elbows. Mir cracks Macellius with a big elbow. Macellius takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Macellius takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Mir controlling the position. Let's hope that Mir has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mir cracks Macellius with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir is looking to take a break and control but Macellius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mir is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Macellius knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Macellius looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mir gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Macellius is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mir lets go of the hold and Macellius can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sam Mir!
