Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derrek Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaiser Soze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaiser Soze has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derrek Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaiser Soze! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott fails with an attempt to clinch.
Scott shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Soze regains half guard. Scott is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott tries to pass the half guard into mount. Soze knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soze can do anything to dispel that myth. Scott wants to stand up but Soze has a hold of him and won't allow it. Soze trying to hold on to Scott's head to control him but Scott postures up.
Soze slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Soze bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Scott's guard. Soze looking to pass the guard. Scott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Soze working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Scott wants to sweep here but Soze controlling him for the moment. Scott wants to improve his position but instead Soze has moved into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soze seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Soze is working for a submission of some sort.
Soze drops an elbow to the side of Scott's head. Scott tries to roll over but Soze keeps him under control. Soze wants to pass to mount but Scott is defending the position. Scott taking some punishment here, with Soze in his half guard. Scott tries to roll over but Soze keeps him under control. Soze throwing shots but Scott is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soze not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Soze seems to be working for a kimura but Scott defends the submission attempt. Soze looks gassed! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Scott wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Soze blocks the strikes from Scott.
Scott is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Soze pulls his head out easily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Scott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Soze, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Soze against the cage but Soze circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Soze. Scott is trying to buck Soze off. Scott sneaks back into half guard. Scott regains full guard. Nicely done. Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Scott throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soze stopping the sweep attempt from Scott. Soze throwing strikes but missing. Soze loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Scott tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scott looking to control.
Scott looking for a sweep. Not yet Scott, not yet. Soze content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Soze tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Scott lands with a slapping head kick. Some wild striking there from Soze.
Soze shoots for a takedown but Scott saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Scott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soze has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Scott is working away from the top position though. Soze landing strikes from the bottom. Soze actively working from the bottom here. Soze manages to get to full guard.
Scott distracts Soze with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Soze is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Soze tries to land a sweep but no joy. Soze lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Scott! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Soze landing strikes from the mount. Soze landing shots from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kaiser Soze will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Soze has closed the distance and engaged Scott in a clinch.
Soze escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Soze shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scott as he avoids it easily. Soze instigates a clinch. Soze has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Scott regains guard immediately. Scott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Soze passes Scott's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Scott on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Soze is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Scott makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scott. Soze pushing down on Scott's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Soze is looking to advance position but Scott won't allow it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scott missing with punches from the bottom.

Soze controlling the action here. Soze is trying to control the action in half guard but Scott is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Soze scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Soze trying to control the action but Scott is working from the bottom. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Soze lands a nice short elbow. Scott is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Soze scores with a couple of nice shots.
Scott is rocked! Soze is trying for a kimura here. Scott looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Soze wins by kimura!
