PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wing Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Dressler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wong comes into the arena with Rebel Warrior blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wing Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fernando Dressler!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dressler shoots in but no luck this time.
Dressler shoots for a takedown but Wong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dressler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wing Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernando Dressler.

Wong closes the distance and pushes Dressler back into the cage.
Dressler tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wong smiles and moves away.
Dressler should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Wong moves in looking to clinch but Dressler pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dressler looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wong has picked Dressler up and slammed him! Dressler can't keep hold of the triangle and Wong manages to pass to side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dressler can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wong seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dressler for as long as he can get away with.
Dressler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
