Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raoul Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raoul Duke!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duke attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Duke shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Duke tries to pass to full mount but Mir defends it.

Duke is looking for a kimura but Mir is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Duke to get the leverage.

Duke is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mir is just riding it out for now. Duke eventually gives up the hold.

Duke tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mir knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duke is looking for a kimura here.
Mir has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Duke is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Duke looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mir moves into range and clinches up with Duke.

Mir has picked Duke up - he's going for a ride! Mir dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mir moves into full mount! Duke won't be happy about that!
Mir looking to control and managing it successfully.
Mir has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mir forces the positional change into back control.
Duke can't escape the position.
Mir trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Duke doesn't escape.
Duke looking very determined here, making life difficult for Mir.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Mir just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Duke shoots in for a double leg but Mir sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Mir closes the distance and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mir gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Duke regains guard.
Mir forces his way into half guard.
Mir moves nicely into side control.
You can see the frustration on Duke's face as Mir controls the position.

Mir wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Duke, who protects the arm well.
Mir just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mir tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mir has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Duke is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Duke tries to get to full guard but Mir has control of the leg.
Mir is controlling the pace.
Mir is trying to control. Duke wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mir dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Mir wants to clinch up but Duke keeps it at a distance.

Duke shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Mir just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Duke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mir as he jumps to the side.

and Duke counters with a shoot takedown. Mir fights it but they end up in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mir is on top in guard.
Mir advances position into side control!
Mir content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Mir has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Duke is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mir yanks on the arm and Duke is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mir.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Mir!
