Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Slipp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Slipp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacob Tyler! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slipp. The fight stays on the outside here - Tyler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Slipp throws a hook but Tyler blocks it. Tyler buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tyler throws a series of punches but Slipp avoids them all with ease. Tyler throws a sloppy head kick and Slipp moves out of range easily. Tyler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice takedown defense from Tyler. No joy for Slipp on that attempt. Slipp shoots in for a double leg but Tyler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Slipp. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyler lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Tyler wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Slipp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tyler is fending him off so far but Slipp persists. Nope, Tyler circles away and we're back to standing. Slipp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tyler tries to avoid it but Slipp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tyler to the ground. Tyler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Slipp shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyler sprawls well. He's pushed Slipp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tyler misses with the combination.
Tyler throws a right hand that Slipp ducks under and follows up with a left that Slipp also avoids with ease. Slipp closes the distance and clinches up with Tyler, looking for a takedown. Slipp pushes Tyler against the cage but Tyler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Slipp is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler is looking to land body kicks. Tyler lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Slipp decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Tyler wants to get back to his feet. Slipp not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tyler pushes Slipp off and gets back to his feet. Tyler throws a nice outside leg kick. Tyler tries a head kick but it misses.
Slipp checks a leg kick. Tyler looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Slipp gets in close and instigates a clinch. Slipp tries to pull guard but Tyler won't allow it.
Slipp prevents a body shot from Tyler. Slipp jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tyler walks away with a smile on his face. Slipp gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slipp is defended easily by Tyler.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Tyler does no damage. Tyler swinging wilding here.
Slipp throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tyler was covering up waiting for the punch and Slipp finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tyler keeping moving, preventing Slipp from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyler wants to get back to his feet but Slipp is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Slipp postures up in Tyler's guard and throws a big left but Tyler blocks it. Tyler being controlled here, momentarily. Slipp trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyler is looking to stand up but Slipp isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Slipp throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tyler's waist but Tyler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slipp off to one side. Slipp fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tyler sprawls well initially but Slipp persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Slipp trying to control the pace. Slipp thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tyler's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slipp seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Slipp is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tyler has managed to free his arm - good work. Slipp sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tyler defending well though. Still in half guard, Slipp seems content to control. Tyler tries to kick Slipp off but Slipp keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Tyler is staying active underneath Slipp, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Slipp is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tyler is just riding it out for now. Slipp eventually gives up the hold. Slipp trying to control the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jacob Tyler will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tyler stands up from guard. Let's bang! Tyler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tyler wants it to stay on the feet. Tyler stuffs the takedown attempt from Slipp. Slipp gets slowly back to his feet. Tyler fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Slipp. Tyler cracks the inside of Slipp's front leg. Tyler throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Slipp. Tyler lands with a thumping leg kick.
Tyler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tyler dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A head kick misses from Tyler. Tyler thuds a left hand into Slipp's body. Tyler looking to land some kicks to the body here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Slipp. Tyler throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Tyler. Slipp darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Tyler is trying to stand back up but Slipp is controlling him
Slipp is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tyler has managed to free his arm - good work. Slipp is pressing down on Tyler's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tyler is holding on for now. Slipp trying to control the action but Tyler is working from the bottom.

Tyler is not content to let Slipp control the position. Tyler blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slipp.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tyler rushes Slipp and presses him up against the cage. Tyler creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Slipp tries for a takedown. No joy.
Tyler lands with a short head shot on the inside. Tyler lands an elbow inside that Slipp shrugs off. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Slipp as Tyler tries to tie him up. Tyler gets underhooks to prevent Slipp's takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Slipp. Tyler does a little dance to reset his feet. Tyler stuffs the takedown attempt from Slipp. Slipp gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tyler tries a head kick but it misses.
Tyler closes the distance and clinches. Tyler is pressed up against the cage. Slipp has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tyler down to the mat. Tyler avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Slipp avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
James Slipp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slipp is defended easily by Tyler. Slipp shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tyler but Tyler pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tyler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tyler wants to clinch. Tyler lands with a kick to the temple. Slipp shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Tyler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Slipp clinches up with Tyler and pushes him back against the cage. Slipp tries to score a body lock takedown but Tyler shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Tyler is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Slipp is defending well for now. Slipp tries to stall but Tyler uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Slipp tries to pull guard but Tyler holds him up against the cage and eventually Slipp drops back down to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Slipp shoots in for a takedown but Tyler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tyler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tyler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Slipp fails with a takedown attempt. Tyler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Slipp drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tyler lands a good knee to the midsection. Slipp won't want to take too many of those. Tyler throws an elbow that misses.
Tyler is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Tyler with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Knees in the clinch landing for Tyler.
Tyler lands an elbow that stopped Slipp in his tracks for a moment. Tyler prevents the takedown attempt.
Tyler has Slipp pressed against the cage, preventing Slipp from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tyler takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Slipp wants a takedown but no success here.
Slipp tries to score a body lock takedown but Tyler shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Tyler crunches a lovely knee into Slipp's ribcage. Tyler lands a left hand that snaps the head of Slipp backwards. Slipp changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tyler fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Slipp darts in trying to clinch and Tyler counters with a one-two to the body. A head kick from Tyler lands but Slipp takes it in his stride. Slipp doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tyler counters with a flying knee. Nice. Slipp decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Tyler wants to get back to his feet.

Slipp stands and throws Tyler's legs to the side, diving into side control. Slipp trying to control the position but Tyler is working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slipp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tyler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Slipp. I think Tyler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
