2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Melikhov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darren Millar! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Millar scores with a takedown into Melikhov's guard. Millar postures up and lands a big shot to Melikhov's brow. Millar trying to control but Melikhov is working from the bottom. Millar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Millar chips away with some ground and pound. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Melikhov keeping moving, preventing Millar from controlling successfully. Millar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Melikhov is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Millar dives into side control.
Melikhov wants to get back to his feet. Millar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Melikhov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Millar has knee on belly and moves into mount. Melikhov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Millar on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Millar unloading with bombs! Melikhov is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Millar lands a big elbow. Millar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Millar has control of Melikhov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Melikhov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Millar working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Millar looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! Melikhov is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Millar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Melikhov looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Melikhov is bucking up trying to escape but Millar cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Melikhov is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Millar is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Melikhov is surviving well by controlling Millar's body position as best he can. Melikhov is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Millar throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Melikhov has his hands clasped together but Millar breaks the hold and Melikhov is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Millar!
