Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fjodor Kanchelskis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Amir Khalidov! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanchelskis leaves Khalidov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kanchelskis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kanchelskis walks forward, straight into a front kick from Khalidov. Kanchelskis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Amir Khalidov has been cut. Khalidov tries to clinch there but Kanchelskis circles away.
Khalidov misses with a head kick.
Kanchelskis throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Khalidov tumbling to the canvas!
Khalidov is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Khalidov has a closed guard, preventing Kanchelskis from standing up. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kanchelskis gets to his feet. Khalidov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Khalidov fails in his attempt to clinch. Horrible takedown by Khalidov or perhaps it was just good defense by Kanchelskis which made him look bad. Khalidov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kanchelskis. Kanchelskis is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Khalidov hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Fjodor Kanchelskis!
