PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zeke Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim McKreedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKreedy has chosen Millions of Peaches as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rage has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Jim McKreedy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage cracks McKreedy with a right hand to the side of the head.


It looks like Jim McKreedy has been cut.
McKreedy fails in his attempt to clinch.

McKreedy dodges the punch combination from Rage.
McKreedy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

McKreedy shoots for a takedown but Rage saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McKreedy shoots for a double leg takedown but Rage sprawls well. He's pushed McKreedy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McKreedy shoots in looking for a takedown. Rage tries to sprawl out of it but McKreedy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McKreedy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rage's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rage is looking to stand up but McKreedy isn't so interested in that idea.

Rage is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
McKreedy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Rage lands a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKreedy moves in looking to clinch but Rage pushes him off.
McKreedy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McKreedy there as he acknowledges the shot.

McKreedy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Rage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McKreedy circles away quickly and effectively.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McKreedy wants to get up but he can't break Rage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McKreedy needs to keep his hands up - Rage had a free shot at his head there.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rage, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
