Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Biff Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Laffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Biff Webster had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Biff Webster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Larry Laffer!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Laffer.
Laffer throws a low kick but it's checked well by Webster.

Webster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Laffer wants to sweep here but Webster controlling him for the moment.

Biff Webster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Laffer.

Webster is fighting off a takedown attempt but Laffer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Webster to the mat. Webster regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Laffer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Webster is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Webster has escaped and now he's on top!

Laffer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Webster is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Laffer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Webster's back instead.
Laffer is trying to stick to Webster's back but Webster is turning into Laffer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Laffer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Webster.

Laffer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Webster is aware though and is defending well.

Webster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Webster gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Laffer to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Laffer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Webster looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Webster looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Webster!

Webster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Webster looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Laffer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
